Some people say that God never speaks to them. But God is talking ALL the
time; we are just not listening.
In 1 Kings 17:2-3, God gave specific direction to Elijah on where to go and it
was in that place that God was going to feed him. He told him, “Get thee
hence and turn thee eastward, and hide thy self by the brook, Cherith, that is
before Jordan.” God said go eastward, hide by the brook, and then told him the
name of the brook sohe would not hide by the wrong one. He told him “Cherith”
and that it was the brook before you got to Jordan. My, my! What direction!
God will speak to you the same way. Just pray for hearing ears; that you can hear
what the Spirit is saying.
God told Elijah he would drink of the brook and that the ravens would feed
him. I feel there are people reading this letter that while God has spoken to
you, you have been afraid to move; afraid that you would make a mistake. But you
are already down and can't go any further down! You just need to do what you feel
in your heart and what God is telling you to do, and He will save you from where
you are and get you started on the right track. Some of you may be without a job,
without a home to live in, or be without money, but God is your answer! He said
that they who wait upon the Lord shall not be ashamed.
God will do the same for you as he did for Elijah. He is not a respecter of
persons. What he does for one he will do for another. Would you do more for one
of your children than you would for another? I don't think so. God is the same
yesterday, today and forever. Abraham had to leave his father’s house,
a place that was familiar to him, and go into a land he had never been; to a
place he knew nothing about. In doing so he had to trust God. You will have
to do the same thing—trust God,knowing that he never let Abraham down and he
won't let you down either.
I feel someone that is reading this feels to start a work for the Lord and you
have waited and waited because of money and because the economy looks bad and you are saying to yourself, “What a time to try and do this! Why could not He have
spoke at a better time when things where better?” But the Lord does things in His
time and they are the best times because we have to trust Him. There is no
better time to start than now. God will lead you and prove himself just like he
did Elijah, and you will not fail.
To you that need to do what God has told you to do, step out in faith today
and see if HE will not do for you what He said and keep you like he did Elijah.
He fed him and kept him hid from danger until the appointed time.
